I love to paint, sometimes feel driven to it.
For me, there is nothing to match the ‘intuneness’ I feel when a painting is flowing. It is a way
of truly being present in the moment. It is my peace. My painting comes in manic phases:
rarely a few seconds of thought for weeks or months at a time, and then nothing but for the
same or longer. I believe I have come to appreciate the inconsistent flow for its many aspects
rather than worrying if it will come back.
My interests, artistic and otherwise, lie in nature and human nature. Most of my renderings
tend toward a more simplistic or stylized representation. Blues or bright colors are prominent
but not guaranteed. My materials have included digital photography, cloth, latex paint,
recycled materials, chalk, ink, pastels, printed-media collage, watercolors, leaves, paper,
linoleum, oil paint, pastels, encaustic paints and most often, acrylic paints.
I am a student of humanity by trade, a painter and writer for personal fulfillment. My goal is to
become fluent in the portrayal and extraction of human emotion through color, composition
and technique.
Sincerely, I thank you for your time and interest.
