I started my portrait series in
2006 when I first got back
into painting.  I burned myself
out on it and finally finished the
last three paintings in 2009,  
after a 2 year hiatus.  If you
wonder why the orange- its
because that was my wall color
which I loved.   I started the
series painting from a black and
white photocopy and thought
the brown/orange a good combo
in that it added a sketchy look
and an earthy tone.
